I have an old laptop from 2012 (Sony Vaio) for the purpose I need it. It also works perfectly. Since the changeover to a new router, however, the laptop no longer recognises the WLAN router and I have no internet. The Internet provider recommended that I buy a USB WLAN stick. Is this item suitable for this purpose, so that I can receive Internet without an Eternet cable? Is there anything I need to be aware of? Thank you for your answer.

In principle, a USB WLAN stick is suitable for this purpose. However, you should make sure that it is backwards compatible with USB2, as your laptop from 2012 certainly does not yet have USB3. So ask digitec whether the stick also runs on USB2. This is probably the case.
