I keep reading that this switch from Unifi is very, very hot. So hot that you can no longer touch it. Actually, I don't want to heat the cellar... But would it be better to buy an energy-saving Zyxel GS1900 and do without some Unifi Comfort?

I have this unit in use in a packed rack.

With the current firmware, the power is 3.64W and the case temperature is 62°C.

With only 3.64 watts, a temperature of 62°C? Was there a typing, decimal or reading error?

According to the data sheet, the "US-8-150W" consumes max 20W without PoE use. With PoE use max 150W.
With passive cooling of the "20W" waste heat, 62 degrees can easily be achieved.
The 130W per PoE are only generated and serve as power supply for other end devices.
