I would like to install this device in my caravan. As we are on campsites, I would like to ask whether this device can also be used as a WiFi router without a SIM card? Is it possible to log in via the campsite's wifi and connect several devices to the wifi via the router? On many campsites you have to buy a separate access for each device, now I am looking for a router where I only have to buy one access to the wifi and can connect the rest of the devices to the router. Thank you very much

The router can be used as a WiFi router without a SIM card by connecting it to the campsite's WiFi via the Gigabit WAN/LAN port. This allows you to log in to the campsite's Wi-Fi and connect several devices via the router to use just one access point and share it with several devices.
The Archer NX200 is a dual-band WLAN router with 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) and has 3 RJ45 ports. It supports functions such as firewall, quality of service (QoS), VPN and mesh. It is primarily designed as a 5G router with a SIM card slot, but can also be operated as a conventional Wi-Fi router with a cable or fibre optic modem, which indicates that it can be used as a Wi-Fi repeater or client in a campsite Wi-Fi network.
However, it should be noted that the use of the campsite WLAN via the router as a client (i.e. as a WLAN receiver) is only possible if the router supports this client or repeater function. The official TP-Link data on the Archer NX200 does not explicitly state whether it can dial directly into an existing WLAN as a WLAN client. Such routers are usually intended for operation with cable or SIM-based Internet.
If the router does not have a client mode function, an alternative would be to receive access from the campsite via a WLAN adapter on the router, but this is not provided as standard.
To summarise: - The router can be operated without a SIM card if it is connected to a modem or network via LAN. - It has not been clearly confirmed whether it can dial directly into the campsite WLAN and share it with several devices. - For your project, you should check whether the router supports a Wi-Fi client or repeater mode so that you can buy just one access point and connect several devices to it.
For a definitive answer, we recommend that you take a look at the manual or contact TP-Link support, as the product description does not clearly confirm this.
