Question about Ubiquiti UniFi U6 LR
In an EFH I need 4 Ubiquiti Unify U6 LR access points and 4 Ubiquiti G3 Bullet cameras plus a connection to 8 RJ-45 LAN sockets. The 8 access points and cameras need power via PoE. Is the Ubiquiti Switch USW-16 Lite with 8 PoE ports sufficient or do I need the Ubiquiti Switch Pro-24 PoE? Thank you very much for a short feedback.
It will be enough for the APs and the cameras. The question is what else you operate on the 8 RJ45s. I would choose the 24 port, then you are also supplied with power on the other ports.
I would go for the larger version, as a cloud key would already be ideal for the setup, for simple management of the UniFi products. It also runs via POE.
Once you start with Unifi, you quickly acquire a taste for it and want to add more components after a while. You can always use some reserves in the switch.
