Physically compatible yes, but limited to the bandwidth of your motherboard's PCIe 3.0 x16.
Currently, we have not found any tests or feedback on this product with hardware older than PCIe 4.0 to give further details and guarantee its full functionality. Please note that to enjoy full speed, you need a motherboard with PCIe 5.0 x16.
