Is it possible to use non-Synology SATA SSDs as storage pools in this NAS? Z. b.: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/crucial-bx500-2000-gb-25-ssd-12366065
Yes, of course, all SATA hard disks can be used, they don't have to be from Synology, when using other hard disks there is a one-time information that the disks were not found in the disk database. That's it, they all work, by the way, you don't need to use expensive NAS disks for a RAID5, I've been using some from Seagate for years, the Barracuda 5TB, you can buy them inexpensively as external 2.5 inch USB drives and then open the housing, remove the hard disk and install it in the Synology NAS. Works without any problems. And since they are 2.5 inch drives, they are also very quiet and require little power.
Hello
Thank you very much for the enquiry. I have no experience in this regard.
I still work with conventional hard disks.
