Is the hard disk designed for continuous use in a NAS?

The Gold series is not intended for NAS, but for servers in continuous operation. Their disadvantage in the NAS is the idle power consumption of 8W compared to the Red Pro's 4.6W. Starting with the 12TB, it is filled with helium and the idle power consumption is reduced to 5W, or the WD Red Pro 12TB to 2.8W.

It should be able to withstand that, yes, but the WD Red would be the model for NAS.
