The cable that comes with the device has the Lightning connector on one side and a USB connector on the other.
On the one hand, this cable is used as a connection to the USB power adapter for charging at the wall socket.
Then it can also be used as a connection cable to the Mac computer (is also charged there).
Or it can also be used as a connection cable to Windows computers if you don't have a Mac computer and have iTunes on a Windows computer. However, the iPad is not charged there; apparently there is not enough power coming out of the USB port on the Windows computers.
Then it can also be used as a connection cable, for example, for a beamer (with an intermediate plug) to play a media file from the iPad.
Otherwise I don't see any other possibilities, because the Lightning connector is Apple-oriented on one side.
