Is this tablet mhl-capable? Can I connect it (via an adapter) to a beamer? How can I generally tell whether a tablet has this feature or not?

Hello,
The Galaxy Tab A7 does not have an MHL interface, so you cannot connect it with a corresponding adapter. However, it does support the "Smart View" function. This is based on the Miracast standard. If your projector supports this, you should be able to transfer the image wirelessly to it.

In principle, it can be connected to a TV/projector with a USB-C HDMI adapter. However, both monitors are then split, resulting in two wide bars on the left and right of the TV. So it's not a cinema experience...
