My Extreme Portable V2 500GB had total failure after 2 years ! Had an important CarbonCopyCloner on it. In frustration and to delete data, I hammered the part. Reported the case to WD as warranty (5y.), still waiting for an answer.

My SanDisk also has a fault. It takes an extremely long time to save pictures on it. In addition, the pictures have massive war errors. Not to be used. Replaced with Samsung T7 perfect
