My Be quiet straight Power 1200W came with a 600W cable for the GPU, so I didn't need the splitter cable supplied with the Gigabyte 4090 where 3 or 4 outputs merge into a single end that goes into the GPU (yes I have no idea about PCs, hence the stone age description). Is this cable identical to this 600W cable from bequiet, so can I just plug the Lian Li strimer into the PSU and then into the GPU?

The Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 is a flexible and extendable modding lighting cable that is available for various connections such as 24-pin, dual 8-pin and triple 8-pin. It is not directly comparable to a 600W cable from Be Quiet as it is a lighting cable designed for RGB effects. To integrate it into your system, you can use it between the power supply and the GPU, but it is primarily for lighting and not for power supply.
If you do not need the cable from the Gigabyte 4090, you can use the Strimer Plus V2 for lighting, but it does not replace the function of a power supply cable. Make sure the power supply cables are connected correctly to power the GPU.
