Transformer hum can have various causes, so there is no simple rule on how to eliminate it. A little hum is normal, every transformer does that. Stronger humming can occur when the transformer reaches saturation, when it is overloaded or when it is defective.
If it is really disturbing and it is getting more and more, I would send it in for a check-up.
