Hello,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Samsung 980 PRO NVMe™ M.2 SSD - 500 GB MZ-V8P500BW is an SSD that is only intended for installation. For this you need a free M.2 slot with PCIe 4.0 with 4 lanes. In terms of cooling, the 980 Pro is equipped with a heat spreader. This dissipates the heat generated and thus effectively regulates the temperature of the flash memory. In addition, the operating temperature of the 980 Pro is automatically kept at a suitable level thanks to Dynamic Thermal Guard technology. This protects the SSD from overheating.
If you would like to use the 980 Pro, check whether your MAC device has a suitable free slot on the motherboard. If in doubt, contact your device manufacturer.
Alternatively, we can recommend the Samsung Portable T5 or T7/Touch as an external solution. Take a look at the Samsung website under the tab "Computer" and "Portable SSD". There you can use filters to find a suitable PSSD.
Kind regards from Schwalbach

That depends on which motherboard, which size the case should have and what you want to use the PC for. Which CPU and which cooling system. The best thing is to tell me your overall planning, then I can help you further. dirkkuhnke@gmail.com
