Question about OWC Aura Pro X2

Not a question, but a note about macOS.Monterey (macOS 12): If you install this SSD instead of the internal Apple SSD, it is essential to update to the latest version of Monterey beforehand (i.e. still to the old SSD!). Otherwise you risk that the firmware update is no longer possible. -> https://eshop.macsales.com/blog/78613-macos-monterey-install-requirements-for-owc-aura-pro-ssds/ - This apparently applies to all OWC Aura Pro SSDs. I have installed them in a MacPro (2013). The update to macOs 12.1 does not go through (12 went!). See link. - Apparently the firmware for 'foreign' chips is not always updated with the OS.

Apple really doesn't make it easy to change components. That has always been the case.
