35mm equivalent means that it is equivalent to a 24-720mm lens on a 35mm camera (full frame). This is done so that people have a way to compare. But there is no such lens. That would be huge. That is only possible with the tiny sensors. The real focal length is 4.3 - 129mm and the sensor is a 1/2.3 inch model (so very small). The cropfactor is 5.6.
