Small point of criticism:
Basically Digitec can't help that the camera is not available, but I think it would be an advantage to keep the waiting customers up to date. Even if it's just a single comment from an employee as a statement, that would be more than enough for many and even if the delivery time slipped out for a long time or Digitec only got their slot for the models late, I think everyone would understand.

What disappointed me again this week, however, was that I asked customer service whether the camera would really arrive on Thursday. Despite my great optimism, I knew that this would probably not be the case and that I could wait even longer for the camera. Unfortunately, I was assured by customer service itself via the chat function that the camera would arrive on Thursday, 2 May 2024. Thanks, but I can read what my order says for myself :)

I absolutely agree, you feel a bit left in the dark when the delivery date is postponed several times by several months, and as someone who has already paid for the camera, you don't find out anything more precise and can only guess...

Today at lunchtime it even said that it would probably be ready for collection at 2.45pm. I was happy as anything except that 1 hour later it said delivery date unknown.

I agree here too, I'm probably like many who ordered in February :-(
Ordered and paid for on 20.2.
Delivery date set for 2 May and now "being clarified" again.
In the meantime the price has also changed from 1599.- to 1509.-, I'm already looking forward to the credit note of 90.-...

There can be supply bottlenecks, that's normal. I expect more proactive communication, especially in this price segment. If the expected date cannot be guaranteed, you can write about it. Will some people then cancel their pre-order? Sure, but then someone else is happy to be in the queue who isn't under such time pressure.
