So the mainboard has 2 CPU power connectors (1x regular 8 PIN connector + 1x 4 PIN connector) unfortunately my power supply only comes with 8 PIN connectors, no 4 PIN or 4+4 PIN connectors. If I have informed myself correctly, then the 8 PIN connector should be sufficient for approx. 240W, the new i9-9900k that I want to install "only" has a consumption of ~170W at max load on all cores. The question I'm asking myself now is whether the figures are reasonable or whether I should be worried / get a new power supply or an adapter to add the missing 4 PIN connector?

Hello Captainpiggies, it is actually clearly written in the operating instructions that all CPU power plugs must be supplied.
However, purely from the assignment, both connectors have the same signals (12V and GND). Theoretically, this should work. However, the connectors are there for a reason. Presumably, the maximum power that comes through a single power connection of this kind is limiting somewhere (given by the plug contacts, cable cross-section or technically by the mainboard), so I would advise you to use both plugs.
Regarding the limitation, I would recommend using two separate connections (directly from the power supply unit) so that the cables are not overloaded.
Also with regard to later use (with an i9 you want to really step on the gas!), it would be worth investing in a power supply unit with sufficient power and connection options, as these are no longer that expensive ;-)

^I should add here that I have found somewhat contradictory information - the maximum consumption seems to go up to 200W and with a 5GHz OC even up to 240+ which would of course definitely be a problem.
