The 4080/4090 cards, or their supplied adapters, usually go over to 4x PCIe connections. Doesn't the GPU get too little power with such a cable, which only has 2 PCIe connections?
This is not a problem at all. The cable is rated at 600W, and the card can also draw 75W from the slot. I run a Strix RTX4090. I can draw 400-500W with the card over a long period of time without feeling any heating on the cable. I suspect that NVIDIA made the 4x so that you can connect the new card directly with the existing PSU + cable of the previous cards.
