The adapters each have 2 x RJ45 connections. If I now want to connect two end devices to the adapter via LAN, do I also have to connect 2 LAN cables from the router to the first adapter?

No, of course you don't have to. The adapters function like network switches that address the respective end devices via IP address/MAC address. You can even go from the router to an adapter and connect another device from there. So it has 3 output channels in addition to 1 input.

Sorry, I described it a bit wrong. with the 2nd powerlan you can connect 2 devices, yes, but with the 1st only 1x, because one connection goes to the modem, otherwise you have no internet.

no. this is intended to supply 2 devices with internet via lan. 2i PCs or a PC and a printer or the TV and the playstation etc.
