The monitor stays black most of the time, no signal. I tried a second monitor with a different cable, same thing.

This wouldn't be so bad if I could install Windows with all its components. But it's not: Windows reports that there is no network during the installation.
The LEDs light up on the RJ45, a laptop on the same cable has network.
I also plugged in a PCI-E network card, but it is not recognised during the installation.
This is my first AMD board and my worst PC assembly experience ever.

Does anyone have an idea how I can get a network?

Have you supplied your cpu with power?
the 8pin power cable in the upper right corner of the mainboard.

Addendum:
In the meantime, I never get a signal from the graphics card.
The fans of the graphics card turn on start-up.
Tried 2 monitors, both with HDMI and DVI, plus output on the MB, all no sginal.
Then I installed an old spare graphics card: same thing.
