Question about Toshiba Canvio Basics

The product information mentions that the drive can be made Mac compatible if it were reformatted with HFS+ file system. Now I have received the drive and nowhere do I find instructions on how this formatting should be done. This HFS+ file system means little to me, I had thought I would be guided through the steps with instructions. How can I reformat the drive now?

Helpful answer
This is relatively simple:

Plug the hard disk into the Apple --> start Disk Utility (should be under "Applications" --> "Utilities") then select the hard disk you want to format (Attention: Make sure that you don't select the internal hard disk by mistake) and then format the hard disk with "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" via the "Erase" tab.

Double check that you have selected the correct hard drive in Disk Utility, otherwise you will wipe your system. :-P

Also note that Windows cannot handle the HFS+ file system.
So you can only use an HFS+ formatted hard disk (without additional software) under Apple.
