Question about FRITZ! WLAN Repeater 1750E

There are various statements regarding the operation of this repeater/AP in conjunction with the Sunrise Internet Box. How does it look now? Can I operate this repeater as an AP connected via RJ45 to the box on the upper floor without any problems (just with a different SSID)? And not as a pure repeater?

at least that's how it works for me with a fritzbox on the upc cable modem. then it has the same ssid.
