There seem to be problems with this product from the production date of November 2022. I bought mine in January 2023. I am of course now interested in whether and how I could find out when mine was produced. Is it possible to find out?

Hi,
I didn't find the production date on the sales packaging. I am also interested in that. When I have time, I will go to the manufacturer's website and check the product. There should be information there about which batches (serial numbers) are affected. I think this information is relevant because you can't tell the production date from the product's labeling. Maybe there is some software from SanDisk that can provide this information. But again briefly, from my experience the manufacturer gives the range of serial numbers.
I hope that helps a little.

You can find out whether the hard disk is affected on the SanDisk website:
https://support-en.wd.com/app...
You need to enter the serial number (S/N) on the back of the hard drive and indicate the operating system used.
SanDisk will indicate whether the product is affected by the fault or not.
