Unfortunately very unreliable. Certainly when something goes wrong with the WWAN connection. Then the poor, too small processor is overloaded and I see ping time to 192.168.8.1 of 10sec or longer and time-outs. And then all of a sudden it works again. Can't be, you have to be able to rely on it when you've already spent CHF 130. Not recommendable.
I have travelled abroad, even in remote areas, and the device has worked smoothly and reliably. Recommendable!
Poor ping times and weak bandwidths have more to do with the load on the network or poor reception (basement or behind reinforced concrete walls) than with the processing power of the wireless modem. I haven't had any problems with the Huawei device so far and have used it quite a lot on the road.
We use the device in the holiday flat, have 4G Swisscom reception, works absolutely reliable! We have 5 devices connected and work up to 9 hours in the home office. No ping losses and good latency times!
