it is striking that digitec 'forgets' to mention that these hard drives have a 3 year warranty from the manufacturer, although several comments on other wd red asked for the correct information !
instead, when ordering, a warranty extension to 3 years is offered for 27.20.-, or 40.80.- for five years !
in my opinion, this is a rip-off attempt, customers have pointed out several times, the 3 years are included in the basic price, and for 40.- more you get the red pro, where then correctly 5 years warranty is in the description !
so once again, please check and correct your information !
p.s.: in the shop they tried to make me believe that after 2 years i would have to contact the manufacturer directly if i had any problems, digitech would then no longer have anything to do with the warranty !

We only indicate the warranty period during which the product is directly covered by us. In other words, you can have the guarantee processed directly by us within two years of purchase. However, it may happen that the manufacturer offers a longer guarantee than the usual two years. In such cases, however, the guarantee must be processed directly through the manufacturer after the two years given by us have expired. The information you were given in the shop was therefore correct. The additional option that you can obtain from us ensures that the third year can also be processed through us.
