Probably refers to the expansion port to which a proprietary network card from Synology can be connected (10Gbit). I use this myself and it works perfectly.

The device has 4 x 1 GbE RJ-45 ports and a USB 3 port. It also has 2 eSata interfaces for Synology expansion units.
