Why do you give a 10-year bring-in guarantee on a new product and only 12 months on an "almost new" one? I don't suppose the "almost new" ones have already been running for 9 years?

Please contact the customer service department in this regard. The question function is basically there to ask other customers about the characteristics of the product in question.
However, if by "almost new" you mean a used/returned item, it is normal for the warranty period to be 12 months.
