Yes. The avent has the same problem. We used it for 9 months and now cannot use it anymore.

The baby unit (camera) does not have a built-in rechargeable battery and requires a permanent power connection. The parent unit has a built-in battery and can also be used while charging. Battery life depends on various factors and cannot be answered universally, but for us it was satisfactory. Sufficient for an evening, but not for an overnight stay.

We have had the device for more than 1.5 years now and it runs for more than 2 hours in the evening without recharging.
