Is the microphone always active or is it deactivated in silence? With the previous model, the microphone was always active and emitted an annoying noise.

Exactly, the microphone only comes on when the child makes a noise. We are also very satisfied with the product. Only the battery life of the monitoring screen should be a bit better and it's a bit of a hassle that the camera always has to be connected to the power.
