Die Qualitäten beim Drucken sind sehr gut, wobei die Tinte der Canon CLI-551XL Y sehr beständig beim Wischen, bei Wasser und bei Licht ist. Auch lässt sich die Patrone sehr einfach Auspacken und Einsetzen, die Verpackung ist hingegen nicht optimal gewählt. Auch die Füllstandsanzeige ist eher nur mäßig.
