Montval paper was designed by the famous painter Gaspard Maillol, the nephew of the sculptor Aristide Maillol, and was produced at his request by Canson at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, this paper has acquired new properties. One of them is its excellent erasability: corrections can be easily made by cleaning the paper with water, a sponge, or a brush. There are no traces of watercolor left behind, and the paper can be reworked. It is easy to use, accessible, and suitable for everyone.
