Eclisse Table Lamp. Designed by Vico Magistretti in 1967 for the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide, this technically sophisticated small sculpture features a rotating outer three-quarter sphere reflector that allows the user to adjust the brightness of the light source as desired, functioning like an eyelid. Vico Magistretti drew inspiration for this intricate lamp design from the moon and its waxing and waning phases. With its stable, almost hemispherical base and a cord switch, the Eclisse table lamp stands securely on any side table—even on a nightstand. Particularly as a reading lamp by the bed, the individually adjustable reflector provides perfect lighting for both the reader and their sleeping partner.
