The Osaka lanterns may have their origins in ancient Japan, but they are a small masterpiece of contemporary craftsmanship. One of our workshops has been creating small wire artworks for Lambert for years. Strong metal wire is cut to length and assembled piece by piece into this art object. To protect the surface well, it is painted black on the outside and gold on the inside. This creates special accents when illuminated by candlelight. The Osaka lantern should not be exposed to wind and weather constantly, as it may corrode over time. Wax residues can be removed with warm water; sharp objects and abrasive sponges should not be used as they can scratch the surface.
