I have measured briefly. The seat surface on the wood is 47 cm x 40 cm. If the cushion is wider than 40 cm, you lose about 3 cm of the 47 cm at the back because of the backrest. On each side you have an additional 5 cm to the armrest. So you could take a 50 cm wide cushion instead of just 40.

It was recommended. We have kept the table in good condition for several years. We still impregnated it with oil and put it under a ceiling plan when not in use.

The load capacity is very low - this is due to the fact that the span of the beams is much too high for their diameter. If you don't put supports in the middle of both elements, this furniture won't hold anything. In my case, the short part broke when my 7-year-old plopped down on it.
