With the Moka espresso maker, architect and designer David Chipperfield has embraced a classic design: the moka coffee or espresso maker. The octagonal device was originally designed by Alfonso Bialetti in 1935 and marketed as an Italian design icon starting in 1945. David Chipperfield's Moka is a deliberate and subtle update of the classic Bialetti.
