According to the description, these are aluminium caseroles. Induction is also listed as a compatible cooker type ...? Have I misunderstood something about the way an induction cooker works, or did your imagination run away with you in the product description?

No, you have not misunderstood anything. The pots are indeed made of aluminium, but the base is magnetic. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you how well the pots work with induction.
