Black Chili Compound is the name of the revolutionary tread compound based on the latest polymer and raw material research. For Black Chili, Continental refines newly developed synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber to create particularly high-performance tread compounds. Continental adds nanoscale carbon black particles to these rubbers, which are optimized in terms of shape and surface properties to tailor the compound to the respective application of the tyre. Tires with Black Chili Compound achieve an unprecedented level of performance. Compared to activated silica tyres, Black Chili tyres have a 26% lower rolling resistance, a 30% higher static friction value (grip), and a 5% higher mileage.

Continental SafetySystem is the puncture protection system. The SafetySystem Breaker consists of kevlar-reinforced, high-strength nylon fabric. It is stab and cut resistant, yet light and flexible, allowing the tyre to adapt better to the ground. Without noticeably increasing weight or rolling resistance, it protects the carcass from foreign objects and contributes to a long service life of the tyre.
