The high-quality Maxxis casing with 60 threads per inch or 23 threads per cm is protected not only under the tread as usual but also all around the sidewalls with Maxxis' innovative SilkShield. The durable Maxxis rubber compound in the center of the tread, which impresses with low rolling resistance, is complemented on the sides by a grippy mixture that provides excellent cornering grip even in wet conditions. Reflective strips on the sidewalls enhance safety. With its high stability at a low weight, the Overdrive Excel is also very well suited for pedelecs/e-bikes with assistance up to 25 km/h.

Dual Compound: Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned according to the desired properties of the tires.

Wire Bead Core: The bead core must securely hold the tire on the rim. High-quality wire is very well suited for this purpose - the disadvantages are: non-foldable and slightly heavier (about 50 g more).

SilkShield (SS): SilkShield offers Silkworm protection all around, from rim edge to rim edge, preventing cuts and other defects on the tire sidewalls and under the tread.
