The Maxxis Rekon is a very voluminous tire that you can use for daily rides. It is excellent for forest trails and all-mountain shredding, but it also handles rough terrain with ease. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed for tubeless riding with sealant, but like all TR tires, it can also be used with a tube. Maxxis primarily recommends the Rekon for the rear wheel, which pairs best with a Forekaster in the front, but it can also be combined with coarser treads.

Wide Trail Casing: The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape for today’s modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and take on a too-angular shape on wide rims, leading to suboptimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm but perform excellently on all rims with an inner measurement between 30 and 39 mm.

EXO Protection: This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewalls of various MTB tires. It is tightly woven, lightweight, and very flexible, ensuring that the tire performance remains impressively good.

3C Maxx Terra: The right 3C compound for enduro and freeride tires. This compound is characterized by easy climbing and excellent grip downhill, as well as a long lifespan.
