The Tectal Race Spin NFC features all the safety and performance characteristics of the Tectal Race SPIN, with the added security of an integrated NFC Medical ID chip. The Tectal Race SPIN utilizes proven technologies from multiple helmets and benefits from a fully integrated unibody shell construction, aramid bridges, and patented SPIN technology. Extended coverage zones around the temples and at the back of the head further enhance impact protection. The helmet is lightweight and extremely well-ventilated, with ventilation channels optimized and tested in wind tunnel experiments. A glasses clip and a RECCO reflector provide additional safety. Angled impact protection is necessary to counteract the forces that occur during non-linear impacts, which are a common cause of head injuries. SPIN (Shearing Pad INside) pads are integrated into the helmet, adding an extra layer of angled impact protection. The most common type of fall results in an angled or oblique impact with the ground or an object, which can cause rotation of the helmet and head. Studies have shown that compared to a direct or linear fall, the force required to cause a severe head injury from an oblique impact is often much lower. To address this common impact scenario, POC developed SPIN pads, which represent an evolution of natural design and feature innovative pad technology and design. The SPIN pads are optimized to provide angled impact protection based on their precise placement inside the helmet and utilize various pad technologies that can break away in any direction.
