The MIPS system reduces the effects of rotational energy that can impact the brain in the event of a fall, potentially leading to serious consequences. The concept consists of two shells that slide against each other upon impact, absorbing 40% of the forces that would otherwise directly affect the brain.

The outer shell made of polycarbonate has been optimized with a seamless surface structure, while the inner EPS liner has been further reinforced with aramid inlays. The Trabec features optimal ventilation through its aerodynamic channel system with 16 ventilation openings. Compared to the fit of conventional helmets, the Trabec encases the head all around, providing protection to the skull even in the event of a side impact. Antibacterial Polygiene ensures that the inlays stay fresh and hygienic for a longer time.
