Yes, the seat can be mounted on a straight bike bar. The Shotgun 2.0 seat is designed for modern mountain bikes with horizontal top tubes and fits on top tubes from 30 to 68 mm wide. It is clamped over the top tube and under the down tube as long as the distance is a maximum of 195-230 mm. If you are unsure, take a look at the installation video or ask in our Community.

is designed for children from 2 to 5 years (up to 22 kg) and can be fitted to most modern mountain bikes with front suspension. However, this seat is not suitable for electric bikes. For e-bikes, the manufacturer recommends the Shotgun Pro Combo seat, which has been specially developed for use with e-mountain bikes. This seat is mounted without frame contact and is equipped with an adjustable leg width to fit wider down tubes of e-bikes.

The limiting factor is rather the size and weight of the child. In my experience, it can be used from the age of 2 and then up to the age of 4 without any problems. If the top tube slopes steeply, I recommend the more expensive version with a brace between the seat post and the head tube instead of a clamp.
