The gripping surfaces have specially hardened teeth with a hardness of about 60 HRC. It is self-locking on pipes and screws, preventing slipping off the workpiece and requiring minimal hand force. A pinch protection feature is included to prevent the operator's fingers from getting caught. The fine adjustment offers 11 setting positions.
