The IC-M2 impulse storage module enables the conversion of meter pulses into an M-Bus readable meter reading. Depending on the type, up to two consumption meters with pulse generators can be configured as full-fledged M-Bus slaves. This allows, for example, the consumption data of electricity, gas, heat, or water meters to be centrally collected via data remote transmission over the M-Bus.

The IC-M2 module can also be programmed as a 2-tariff meter (HT and NT) via an external tariff control. It operates without a power supply; the power supply is provided via the M-Bus, and it has an integrated battery to bridge bus failures. The full counting function is maintained even in battery operation (bus failure), and complete data retention is ensured in case of power failure.

Connections are made for potential-free pulse generators (reed contact, optocoupler) as well as for pulse generators with electronic S0 interface (open collector). Adjustable parameters include meter reading, pulse value, and unit, a freely programmable cut-off date, and 12 previous month-end values. Full parameterization is done via the M-Bus with write protection function (IC-M2). Depending on the type, mounting on a DIN rail according to EN 50022 or wall mounting is possible.
