Detailed operating manual. These modules are primarily used as production brakes and should not be used in emergency situations. Feed braking modules. These modular electronic units are suitable for smooth braking of three-phase AC induction motors, as used in production and process machinery. The modules utilize the principle of injecting direct current into the stator windings, creating a stationary magnetic field. This stationary field slows down the rotor and stops the power transmission. The braking process is initiated by external control devices such as push buttons, limit switches, etc., which in turn start the module and close the additional brake relay (not included). Information on suitable relays can be found in the gearbox/switchgear section of the catalog. Electronic modules offer the following advantages over mechanical equivalents: compact design, suitable for mounting on a 35 mm symmetrical DIN rail, easy retrofitting, quick initiation of the braking function when needed (usually within 0.6 seconds), no maintenance required, customizable braking time and braking torque, self-supply via two-phase power supply. The application range for injection brakes includes: braking of machinery with long deceleration times due to high inertia loads; circular saws, rolling machines, and other process equipment, where rapid stopping of the system causes increased cycle or changeover times.
