Typical devices, known as Powered Devices (PD), include WLAN access points, RFID readers, cameras, IP phones, etc. The advantage of PoE: Reduced cabling effort by using the data line for both data transmission and power supply of the connected device. Space-saving due to compact design and mounting on a DIN rail. Easy installation thanks to classification as a limited power source (LPS / NEC Class 2).
