The terracotta plant pot made of clay ensures good water drainage, preventing frost caused by waterlogging from cracking the container. The drainage hole should be unobstructed and can be covered with an upward-curved piece of clay to allow for proper water flow. Place the pot on feet to prevent it from freezing to the ground and to enable water to drain away from all sides. If possible, position the pot in a sheltered location away from precipitation and drafts to avoid saturation and the risk of damaging ice formation.
