The Gardena water socket and the junction box look similar, but differ in function and area of application.

- Water socket: Contains an automatic stop valve (water stop) so that no water escapes when the hose is disconnected. Ideal as a fixed water outlet in the garden.
- Connection socket: No water stop available. Serves as a starting point for underground irrigation systems and connects the tap to the pipeline.
- Water socket: For direct water withdrawal anywhere in the garden, without having to go to the tap.
- Connection socket: For feeding water into the underground system, not intended as a tapping point.
- Water socket: Hose can be disconnected at any time without water running.
- Connection socket: Water continues to run when the hose is disconnected as there is no stop valve.
