This handcrafted, soft doll is Rubens Child's heavyweight hugging expert – for anyone who is a child at heart! Rubens Originals are perfect for doll therapy thanks to their large, warm, and comforting hugs for people of all ages.

The size, softness, and weight of the original dolls convey the feeling of a real child. Studies have shown that the dolls have a calming effect on elderly people with dementia and Alzheimer’s, among others.

The dolls are 50 cm tall and weigh 1,000 g. The original dolls are made from 100% polyester fleece and filled with 100% recycled polyester. The dolls are designed to be machine washable at 60 degrees to meet the demands of the care sector.

We believe that our slogan "Handmade Happiness" fits Rubens Barn perfectly. "Barn" means "children" in Swedish, making the brand name "Rubens Barn" easier to understand for our dolls.

The first six dolls from the Rubens Barn Original series were designed in 1996.

Our company, Design Rubens Sweden AB, was founded in 1998, and since then, Teruko Wahlström has been the managing director.

All products are tested according to the required safety standards in the respective country where they are sold, EN 71 in Europe and ASTM standards as well as CE standards in the USA.
