You never have to set the charging settings for a Spektrum Smart Battery unless you want to. When a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery is connected to a Spektrum Smart charger, unique parameters and the health status of this Smart LiPo battery are uploaded by the integrated Smart storage microchip. Through the charger, you can view and set settings such as charging speeds, so all you need to do to charge the battery each time is press the "Start" button on the charger. The Smart technology takes care of the rest.
